The remains of Nothabo Zandile Khumalo, and her two daughters, Natalie and Nala, are expected to arrive in Bulawayo on Saturday, August 1.
The development was confirmed by Khumalo’s family, more than three weeks after the trio were found dead at their home in Great Denham, Bedfordshire, in the United Kingdom.
Khumalo, 42, and her daughters, 15-year-old Natalie and 5-year-old Nala, were discovered dead at the family home on July 3, after concerns were raised that they had not been seen for several days. A post-mortem examination later confirmed that all three died from blunt-force trauma.
The family’s husband and father, Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, also known as Mark, is accused of killing them and fleeing the UK for South Africa shortly afterwards.
He was arrested in Kensington, Johannesburg, after a joint operation involving South African police, INTERPOL and British authorities and was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm at the time. He remains in custody in South Africa as Britain pursues his extradition to face three counts of murder, alongside separate firearms charges he faces locally.
Family members have provisionally set the funeral for Monday, August 3, in Bulawayo.
Further details on funeral arrangements are expected to be shared by the family in the coming days.
