A 45-year-old man from Beatrice has been sentenced to 20 years in prison by the Chivhu Regional Magistrates’ Court after he was convicted of raping his 15-year-old daughter.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), the offender took advantage of his wife’s absence from home sometime in 2026 and sneaked into his daughter’s room at night. He found her naked while she was changing and gagged her before raping her.
The abuse came to light in July 2026, after a tip-off led investigators to intercept messages exchanged between the man and his daughter. A police report was subsequently filed, leading to his arrest.
He was convicted and sentenced to an effective 20 years’ imprisonment.
The NPAZ said it remains committed to protecting children from sexual abuse and ensuring that offenders who violate positions of trust face the full force of the law.
